Eventually we settled on Shaw Avenue – one of the busiest streets in the area. It would offer us the perfect place to be able to serve the people of Fresno in a place where they already were. Of course we’d offer home calls (it’s in our name after all), but in the event that someone needed to bring their computer in, we’d always be available in a convenient location.   With our central location, we were and still are able to offer service to the areas surrounding Fresno, like Clovis and others. One of our advertising attempts in Fresno was to hire sign wavers to promote our services. You may have seen them briefly on Shaw Street, dancing, twirling and yes even skating. In the end it turned out that people who had computers that needed to be fixed were usually at home when they needed help – not out getting groceries. As an interesting aside, one of the first customers that Nerds serviced was actually the head coach of the Fresno State Bull Dogs – Ryan Eldridge personally came out to his home and worked on his computer. Only the best for the best! To date, the Nerds On Call store in Fresno services the second largest city out of the 14 cities we’re in. Only Portland has a larger population.
