Originally from the Southwest, Mario and Connie Viramontes moved to the Central Valley to build a better life for their family. In 1985, Mario explored his entrepreneurial passion by taking to market his zesty Tio Mario’s Salsa. He showcased this salsa at local food expos around California. In 1986, a chance encounter with the owner of American Consumer Food Shows led Mario to embark on a journey in the event business as a vendor, and later a show manager. From there, with the support of his wife, Mario started his own business: Expo Advertising, later renamed Expo Marketing & Services, which specialized in trade shows and large events. Expo Events & Tents now consists of three full-service departments: Expo Rentals, Expo Audio Visual, and the original Expo Décor.
